Access Statement For Loan End Cottage
Introduction
Loan End Cottage is part of a Grade 2 listed Georgian house. It is situated up
100m of gravel driveway, off a
tarmac road half a mile from the centre of Alnwick.

• Bookings and enquiries can be made directly from the website via email, by
telephone or by letter.
• All guests are provided with a map and written directions to the cottage
(available in different font size).
• The nearest bus stop is the Alnwick Bus Station which is 1/2 a mile away.
• The nearest railway station is Alnmouth which is 5 miles away.
• The nearest RADAR toilet is in Alnwick Market Place, 1/2 a mile away.
• The nearest taxi company is 200m

Arrival
& Car Parking Facilities
• One car can be driven to the front door of the cottage and parked in a
cobbled courtyard. The courtyard is at the same level as the front door of the cottage.
Main Entrance
& Reception
• Keys can be collected on arrival, from the main house. There is a path which
leads from the front door of the cottage around the side of the house down a
slight slope for 15 metres. There are 2 steps to the front door of the main house.
• There are no steps to the front door of the cottage. The front door of the
cottage is 90cm x 196cm with a
hinge on the left. The keyhole is
122cm high.
• The front door opens into the living room. There is a ledge which is 6cm high. There is a light switch on
the right hand side.

/ Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe
• The front door opens directly into the living room. The carpet is brown short
pile.
• There are 2 two seater sofas facing each other with a trunk acting as a
coffee table between. There is a reading light above one of the sofas. There is
also a wicker chair. These are all movable. There is a TV with 20" screen
and DVD player with remote controls. On a small table is a CD player with
radio.
• The dining table and 4 chairs are in the living room. The oval dining table
measures 117 x 144cm at its maximum. It has 2 drop leaves.
• The staircase leads from behind the front door. It has 2 stairs which taper
to the right and are 21cm high. The next 12 stairs are 17cm high, 64cm long and
21 cm deep. They are all carpeted.
• They lead to the landing which is 84cm wide and 220cm long. This is varnished
wood.
Laundry
• There is a washer dryer in the
kitchen at ground level. It loads from the front and is siuated under a workbench in the corner of the
kitchen. The door opens to the right and thee is a wall to the left.

• A back door leads out of the living room up one step which is 20cm high 88cm
wide and 46cm deep.
• There is a paved patio area which measures 340 cm x 290cm.

• The cottage has 2 bedrooms upstairs, a double and a single. The floors in
both rooms are varnished wood.

• The door is 82cm x 198cm, hinged on the left. There is a double iron bedstead
with 4'6" mattress.
• All bedding is 100% cotton. There is a feather duvet.
• The space to the left of the bed is 66cm.
• The space to the right of the bed is 64cm.
• The room has a light switch at the door and 2 separate reading lamps either
side of the bed.
• Bedroom 2
• The door is 82cm x 198cm, hinged on the left. There is a single iron
bedstead. This is against the right hand wall. The space to the left of the bed
is a minimum of 80 cm.
• All bedding is 100% cotton and there is a feather duvet. There is a lamp by
the bed.

Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
• The bathroom is up 3 more stairs from the first floor landing . These are 89
cm wide, 26cm deep and 20cm high.
• The door is 83cm x 203cm.
• There is a bath with shower over it. The bath is 170cm long. The inside width
of the bath is 55cm and is 75cm under the shower
• The toilet seat is 43cm high. There is 18cm to the left of the toilet and 21cm
to the right.
• The height of the sink is 82cm.
• Free floor space 100cm x 160cm.
• The bathroom has a wall mounted heated towel rail.
• The floor is white floor tiles.

• A door from the living room leads into the galley kitchen. On the left hand
wall is a workbench/breakfast bar 36cm deep and 90 cm high. There are 2 stools
underneath.
• The work surface is on the right of the kitchen and at the far end. It is 90
cm high and 60 cm deep.
• The oven is beneath it with the hob on top.
• The fridge is at the near end of the work surface. It is 87 cm high with a
freezer compartment above 35 cm high. The fridge is 48cm wide.
• Crockery and glasses are kept in the cupboards above the work surfaces.
• A microwave sits on the work bench.
• The kitchen is lit by halogen lights. The floor is tiled.
